If you’re thinking of getting some camping pods you have quite a few to choose from, mostly upturned boat-shaped.

As keen campers ourselves we know that camping is about being out in nature but protected from some of it.  Sometimes you want a bit more protection than a tent can provide...

Picture
So MorphPODs have a large window for good views out and to let plenty of daylight in.  And a big covered veranda for cooking and sitting out under, all year round.

Optional beds can be hooked up out of the way against the slope when not in use to make the most of the space.  Robust construction means sturdy shelves and hooks can be fixed to the walls to keep stuff off the floor.
Picture
Many people travel a long way to do activities.  Staying in a MorphPOD means they get more time to do what they came for, instead of packing, setting up and taking down a tent.
Plus, you can attract a wider range of guests to your site, including those who don’ t or can’t enjoy tent camping.  They pay more, stay longer and are less likely to cancel if bad weather comes along.

They are constructed using prefabricated panels for quick assembly on site, even in areas not suitable for other pitches.  They are low maintenance and easy to clean. The 2.2 version can be delivered and moved about on a standard trailer.

Cost / Income
MorphPOD 2.2
Cost: £6830
which is 196 nights at a typical £35

MorphPOD 3.4
Cost: £9890

which is 220 nights at a typical £45

Sites with good attractions on-site or nearby get occupancy rates of 70-80% (255-290 nights a year) in camping pods.
One of our MorphPOD 3.4s provided an income of £1845 in the 3 months to the end of August 2014, and a 2.2 brought in 10% of its cost in two months, from a standing start.

Investment
With this level of return, a MorphPOD is a very attractive  and sustainable investment, and we have people who are looking for good sites to host their MorphPOD. You would get a proportion of the letting fee for use of facilities and  ground rent, with no outlay.  Let us know if you would be interested in this.
What owners and guests say...

“We love our MorphPOD, it adds another dimension to the accommodation that we already offer but not only that it is charming in its setting on the farm with its modern spin on a traditional design.  Its like it has always been here; is part of the establishment.  The local materials used blend well with the environment through the changing seasons.  We love the fact that it means we can extend our season to guests wanting to camp and glamp.’”
(Medina Brock, accommodation provider).

“It was just the right contrast to our small tent (which we also like) - all the benefits of being more-or-less outdoors without the drawbacks.”   (Guest).

“Despite being 0 degrees, MorphPOD was snug and cosy but we still had that lovely fresh air camping feeling.”   (Guest).

"Loved it, I could see myself sitting on that veranda and cosying up in the hut at night, I hate camping but this would make me consider it."  (Visitor)

Things you’ll want to know:

Planning:  We can advise you about planning permission and apply on your behalf if required.
The cost and time involved in making an application are usually insignificant.
Foundations: are not required under normal circumstances; MorphPODs sit on paving slabs or blocks.
Rain noise:  what rain noise? The metal roof covering is spaced from the insulated structure, so it's quiet inside.
Lifespan:  MorphPODs are designed to last at least 30 years, and to age gracefully with minimum maintenance.  The warranty is 12 years.
Ordering and delivery:  once we have agreed all the details we ask for a deposit of 50%.  Then we can build a MorphPOD 2.2 in our workshop and deliver it to you fully formed on a trailer within 6 weeks. Or if access is tricky it can be assembled on site.  A MorphPOD 3.4 is too big to transport by road, so we bring the bits and panels to site within 8 weeks, and construct it there within two.  There are variables, and if you need it quicker that can usually be arranged.  Delivery costs vary, depending on distance and available access.
Some optional extras:
Veranda: this comprises timber floor joists and deck, end frame and roof.  Width can be what you want, but is usually between 1.8 - 2.4m (6 - 8’).  For these sizes the cost is £950 - £1150.  The end can be enclosed with tent fabric or similar.
External finishes: For minimal maintenance and maximum longevity we do galvanised roofing and Douglas fir cladding as standard, but you can have whatever suits you and your site best.
Internal finishes: the ply walls and ceiling can be left as it is, or finished with a wax or paint finish.  We can lay the floorcovering you want, or leave it to you.
Electrics: We can fix the sockets and fittings you want, or you can arrange everything yourself.
Heating: small spaces don’t need much heat input, and the most economical way is an electric oil-filled radiator.  A woodburner is nicer, but needs careful thought.  We can do that.
