Options:

If the standard elements don’t work for you, or you want something different there are a range of options that we can incorporate at build or add later, or you can do it yourself - whatever works best.  As long as it stays simple.  We try to keep costs modest, and to allow for bits to be added later without it getting complicated.
Groundworks:
The footprint area of the MorphPOD needs to be fairly flat so the chassis doesn’t touch the ground.  Further excavation can be done to reduce the finished floor level if necessary.  We provide full details including setting out dimensions and levels if you wish.
Foundations:
MorphPOD normally sits on 450 x 600mm, 50mm thick standard paving slabs on a sand/cement levelling bed - one to each corner and mid-point of the long sides.  Unusual ground conditions might mean something different is needed - we can advise you about that.
Veranda:
The construction of the veranda depends on the site specifics, but it usually comprises a treated timber joisted and boarded deck, with an end frame supporting the roof structure.  It can incorporate shading screens, and support fittings if designed accordingly.  The width can be whatever suits, up to a maximum of about 2.4m (8’ approx).
Services:
We don’t have a standard pack of electrical fittings because what’s required depends on the use.  We can do the full installation if you tell us what you need and where, or incorporate conduit and/or cableways for you to sort that out afterwards.  Electric heating can be wired-in or portable, although the small volume and insulation means not much is required.  We are looking at an external woodburner that can provide space heating, hot water,  and a cooking plate.
Roof finish:
The roofing is available in a range of standard colours, either in polyester paint or plastic-coated.  There are technical aspects to the choice, and either applied paint finish has the disadvantage of being susceptible to scratches and blemishes.  Touch-up paint is available.  Galvanised is the standard because it is simpler, tougher and longer-lasting.  For available colours click
here.
Internal walls & ceiling:
We use ply because it’s robust and there’s good scope for various finishes.  Such as a transparent coating - Osmo Polyx or Fiddes hardwax oil, or painted.  The choice of species beyond the standard can give a particular character to the interior, and we are happy to incorporate whatever you favour as long as it works in other respects.  The form of construction means you can overlay the standard ply with a thin decorative layer if you wish.  Other, specialist finishes can be used, but best to talk about that with us first.
Floor finish:
Hardwax oil finishes as described above can also be used on the flooring ply - keeping things simple and economical.  Otherwise sheet materials such as vinyl, Marmoleum, carpet, laminate or overlaid floor boards can be done by us or you.
Furniture:
We make a standard wooden bed frame with Ikea slats & 800mm wide mattress, which can be easily hooked up out of the way when not in use to maximise flexibility.  We  will be adding to the range in time, and would be happy to look at any ideas you have.
